Chaos and fear threaten to accompany the anxiety and uncertainty that is developing in the renewable energy sector in Murcia, Spain. The Royal Decree Law, adopted on January 27^th by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, has temporarily suspended the governments’ support for the development of new renewable power plants. This has led to business in Murcia requesting that the new Spanish government issue a decree that projects which are already underway in the region must be completed.

Additionally, as the employer’s union highlights, adhering to the Royal Decree Law would mean the loss of investments totaling EUR160 million and 1,800 jobs.
