Local governments and their groups or associations, other public entities, nonprofit institutions, owners, businesses and individuals are all eligible for this aid. The amount of aid could, depending on the type of installation, reach up to 40 per cent of the investment.

The mainadvantage of the plan for the promotion of renewable energy among the community of Madrid is that, in respect to aid from previous years, it is focused on simplifying the administrative process. Thus, the projects will be evaluated in order of submitted applications once they have completed the installation, which will greatly speed up the time in which citizens receive aid.
